Toulouse in the semis!

On Wednesday afternoon, the draw for the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue Final 4 (at the France Bleu Maine studios) - which will be played next March at the Antares in Le Mans - was held and Paris Saint-Germain Handball against Toulouse.

We will therefore witness a reprise of the 2017-18 final, which was won by Les Rouge et Bleu in Metz (40-30). The two teams also met in the semi-finals 2016, with our players once again coming out on top (31-45). These are the only two meetings between these teams in this competition. The match will take place on 14 March.

The match promises to be a thrilling one, as the Fenix have had a very good first half of the season and are now fifth in the league standings despite their defeat at Coubertin (34-28) at the end of September. As a reminder, Paris are three-time title holders, last season beating Montpellier, also in Le Mans (31-25). In the other semi-final, Nantes will face Chambéry.

Bruno Martini, general manager of Paris Saint-Germain Handball:

"We knew this draw was going to be a tough one. All the teams want to play this competition right to the end, as it's the shortest route to qualify for Europe. We're going to Toulouse next week for the resumption of the championship, so it will be interesting to measure ourselves against them in the wake of Euro 2020. The Coupe de la Ligue is very important for the players, especially as we've won it three times in a row."
