Kim Ekdahl du Rietz: 'I'm proud of this performance'

On Sunday evening, in their postponed Lidl Starligue Round 7 fixture, Paris Saint-Germain Handball scored a stylish win away to Montpellier (24-32). Raul Gonzalez, Luc Abalo and Kim Ekdahl du Rietz gave us their thoughts on the match and the Parisians' new table-topping status.

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):

"Playing here is tough. We needed to get a strong start and that's what we did, despite the fatigue. We managed to maintain a six-goal lead for most of the match, so it was very positive. This match was very important because now we're on top of the table. It will be difficult away to Nantes in the next round, but I feel like the team has the confidence to go there and get the win."

Luc Abalo (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):

"In the second half, Montpellier hit back because they didn't want the match to play out the way it had been going. But we managed to maintain our lead. The squad are feeling good. We need to continue like this and keep working hard. We're really enjoying ourselves out on the court!"

Kim Ekdahl du Rietz (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back):

"The first half was excellent and we could have gone even further in front. The beginning of the second was tougher. Bit I'm proud of this performance as we held out right to the end. I never look at the table - I just know that we have to win all our matches and then see where we are."
