Kamil Syprzak: 'We knew what was at stake'

Check out the reactions from Raul Gonzalez, Nikola Karabatic and Kamil Syprzak following Les Rouge et Bleu's 39-31 victory at Aix in their Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 10 clash.

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL COACH)

"I'm pleased because we didn't have much time to prepare for the match. Everyone was very professional and focused. Now that we're alone in top spot, we have to be happy and keep moving forward. The defeat against Kolstad doesn't change our motivation. We played our hearts out, and it's hard to play every third day, so we have to be proud of our players."

NIKOLA KARABATIC (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL CENTRE-HALF)

"We played well in the first half, but it was tight. We made a few mistakes in both attack and defence. We didn't manage to take that four- or five-goal lead to put ourselves in the clear, but we set that right at the start of the second half. We defended well and our counter-attacks were effective. We played very well and kept our concentration right to the end, because it's very difficult to play in Aix. Every point counts and we know that the championship can be decided by details. Winning in Aix is very important, especially when Montpellier drew with Saint-Raphaël the day before. We're very happy and we're working hard to be as consistent as possible."

KAMIL SYPRZAK (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL PIVOT)

"We were very serious. Before this match, we knew what was at stake. It's always important to win here, and it's never easy. It was complicated in the first half. They played very well. In the second half, we made the difference and the important thing is that we won. We need to keep going in this direction."
