Group A results

After Paris Saint-Germain Handball's 28-26 defeat in Zagreb on Thursday, check out the results of the other Group A matches from EHF Champions League Matchday 13.

SZEGED - KIEL: 27-28

Undisputed group leaders Kiel put in a serious and accomplished performance in Hungary to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. Samir Bellahcene and his team-mates had their work cut out against a valiant Hungarian side who gave everything to thwart the Germans' plans, starting with Roland Mikler. The Hungarian side's keeper was imperious on his line (15 saves), but could not prevent the narrow defeat. If qualification for the quarter-finals is a foregone conclusion, the group stage's final matchday will not be without its challenges for Kiel. The Germans will need at least a draw at home to Zagreb to secure top spot in the group. Meanwhile, Szeged, who sit sixth - the last spot that earns a place in the round of 16 - and cannot be overtaken by Kolstad, travel to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Wednesday.

PELISTER - AALBORG: 28-33

Travelling to Northern Macedonia to take on a Pelister side still looking to open their points account this campaign, Aalborg showed no signs of slowing down and duly picked up their third consecutive win on the continental stage. The victory, combined with the capital club's defeat in Zagreb, means the Danes have also booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. Although their fate is not in their own hands, Mikkel Hansen and his team-mates can still dream of topping the group. That means beating Kielce on the final matchday, and hoping Kiel slip up against Zagreb. Pelister, meanwhile, will be looking to salvage pride in Norway when they travel to Trondheim to take on Kolstad.

Kielce – Kolstad : 31-23

Having gone three games without a win prior to the visit of Kolstad, Kielce responded perfectly and managed to close the gap on Les Rouge et Bleu before the final groups stage matchday. Talant Dujshebaev's men had the efficiency of Andreas Wolff (14 saves) to thank as they contained the onslaught of a Norwegian side who did everything in their power to avoid a fifth consecutive European defeat on the stage. Eliminated from the play-off race, the Norwegians have plenty to regret, and will round out the group stage against Pelister in a match with nothing at stake - other than finishing on a positive note. Meanwhile, Kielce find themselves in a tricky situation away to Aalborg. Level on points with Raul Gonzalez's men, the Poles are more than ever in the race for third place. However, defeat in Denmark could potentially relegate them to sixth, depending on other results.
