Check out how the capital club's rivals fared on EHF Champions League Matchday 2.
Wisla Plock 26-28 Dinamo Bucharest
Defeated by Sporting CP on Matchday 1, Wisla Plock were keen to bounce back in their first European home match of the season. But Les Rouge et Bleus' next opponents fell to Dinamo Bucharest in a hard-fought encounter. Just as they had done against Fredericia on Matchday 1, the Romanians turned in a real team performance, with no fewer than 14 of their 16 players scoring at least one goal. Next week, David Davis's Dinamo side will be looking to make it three from three when they host Pelister, who are still in search of their first Champions League point.
Pelister 22-30 Füchse Berlin
After putting in a fine display against the capital club on Matchday 1, Pelister found themselves in real trouble against Füchse Berlin. Poor in front of goal, the Northern Macedonians were six points behind at the break (30': 9-15). In the second half, the Germans upped the tempo, spurred on by the ever-clinical Mathias Gidsel, who once again finished top scorer with six goals. On Matchday 3, Berlin travel to Denmark to take on Fredericia, who had a difficult Matchday 2 clash with Sporting.
Fredericia 19-37 Sporting CP
Fredericia undoubtedly had higher hopes for their first-ever home game in the European Cup. Playing at Odense's GOG stadium, the Danes were no match for a Lisbon side that continues to go from strength to strength. As was the case on Matchday 1, brothers Martim and Francisco Costa provided the spectacle, scoring ten goals between them. Lacking experience and precision in defence, Fredericia also struggled in attack, stymied by the impressive André Kristensen. With 14 saves at a 50% clip, the Norwegian goalkeeper was a major factor in Sporting's success, as they maintained their perfect record in the 2024-2025 campaign. Next week, the Portuguese will be looking to build on that success against Veszprém.
