Group A results

EHF Champions League Matchday 12 ended yesterday - here's a look at all the results from Group A.

MAGDEBURG - VESZPRÉM: 32-25

In THE match of the week between the German champions and the Hungarian vice-champions, handball fans were treated to a spectacular battle. The match was neck and neck up until the 36th minute, but then the home team took the upper hand and, when the final 15 minutes rolled around, they had a five-goal lead (25-20). This substantial advantage allowed them to enjoy a quiet final stage to the game. Veszprém's main tormentors were Philipp Weber (9 from 12) and Kay Smits (9 from 13).

This success allows Magdeburg to take the second place in the group, while Veszprém now find themselves on the last step of the podium.

GOG - PLOCK: 31-24

This clash between fourth and second from bottom was all one-way traffic. Already well ahead at the break (18-11), the Danes were content to manage their lead in the second half.
In goal, Tobias Thulin made 18 saves at rate of 45%. In attack, it was right-back Emil Madsen, with seven goals, who stood out.

Plock, 7th, are not yet qualified for the round of 16 finals and have to win their next games to keep hopes alive.
