Group A results

Paris Saint-Germain Handball continued their winning streak against Porto (33-35) on EHF Champions League Matchday 9. Check out the rest of the results from Group A.

VESPZRÉM - PLOCK: 32-22

After conceding top spot in the group to Les Rouge et Bleu when they lost to Zagreb (29-26), Veszprém got back to winning ways on Thursday afternoon when they played host to Wisla Plock. The Hungarian team led by eight points at the end of the first half, having conceded only nine times (30': 17-9). Once again, Petar Nenadic was unstoppable and finished the match with nine goals! The win keeps Veszprém in second place in the group, while the Poles are back in the drop zone.

MAGEDBURG - GOG: 36-34

Magdeburg had a great opportunity to settle comfortably in the upper of the table. The Germans were at home to GOG, who were coming off consecutive defeats against the capital club. The clash lived up to its promise and suspense was still the order of the day in the final minutes of the game (58': 34-33). In the scoring department, we saw a match within a match between GOG's Dane Emil Madsen (10 from 13) and Magdeburg's Icelander Omar Magnusson (11 out of 14). In the end, the home team managed to hold onto third place, while GOG are fifth.

BUCHAREST - ZAGREB: 27-27

After their victory over Veszprém, Zagreb wanted to confirm their form with another win - this time away to Bucharest. But the Croatians were up against a great Dinamo team, who have been difficult to handle for the past several matchdays. After a long mano-a-mano, it was the Romanians who had the chance to clinch it - but they were unable to convert. Despite a difficult start to the European campaign, Bucharest are now two points behind Magdeburg. Zagreb, for their part, took advantage of this point to get out of the drop zone.
