Group A results

By beating GOG 40-35 in Denmark, Paris Saint-Germain Handball moved to the top of the Group A standings. Check out the rest of the EHF Champions League results from Matchday 8.

ZAGREB - VESZPRÉM: 29-26

Massive upset in Zagreb! Sitting second from bottom as Group A leaders Veszprém came calling, the Croatians pulled off the surprise of the season so far. Trailing by two goals at the break, the home side managed to reverse the situation in the second term. Thanks to 14 saves by 'keeper Dino Slavic, they managed the best performance of the matchday. This result does not pull them out of the relegation zone, but it brings them level on points with sides who are. The Hungarians, on the other hand, slipped to second place - to the benefit of Les Rouge et Bleu.

PORTO - MAGDEBURG: 31-31

The only team in the competition still on zero points as Matchday 8 and the visit of Magdeburg rolled around, the Portuguese side finally managed to get off the mark. Although they were trailing for most of the game (30': 12-16; 56': 29-31), they finished the better and came back in the final moments. However, after a kung-fu on the buzzer, the Germans thought they had won - before the would-be winner was ruled out, leaving the two teams on level terms. Paris are now four points ahead of the third place.

PLOCK - BUCAREST: 26-28

Dinamo Bucharest had a great opportunity to move into the upper reaches of the table after winning their duel against the Poles last week (32-27). To do so, the Romanians had to win this second leg against a Plock side that has struggled fir results since the Matchday 3. This time again, at the OREN Arena, and despite a 10 from 10 by Tin Lucin for Wisla Plock, it was the visitors who won. Thanks to this success, the Romanians are ahead of GOG, while Plock see the red zone getting closer.
