Group A results
After Paris Saint-Germain Handball's thrilling win over GOG (41-36), check out the rest of the results from Matchday 7 of EHF Champions League Group A.
Magdeburg - Porto: 32-27
Porto jut can't seem to catch a break. Despite a good attacking performance, the Portuguese team couldn't clinch victory and remain the only team in the competition with zero points. It has to be said, however, that they were up against an inspired German team. Led by the scintillating 20-goal duo of Omer Magnusson (10 from 11) and Matthias Musche (10 from 10), Magdeburg confirmed their strong European form and maintained their grip on third place, three points behind the top two places (which qualify directly for the quarter-finals).
Veszprém - Zagreb: 32-28
Zagreb were not far from getting a good result away to group leaders Veszprém. With less than three minutes to go, the Croats had every reason to hope (57': 30-27). But the Hungarians did not disappoint. Thanks to six goals from Petar Nenadic and 11 saves from Vladimir Cupara, they held on to their advantage and hung onto top spot in the group, one point ahead of Les Rouge et Bleu. The Croatians, on the other hand, are in the drop zone, two points behind Plock.
Bucarest - Plock: 32-37
The match between Bucharest and Plock was of capital importance, as the teams were level on points heading in to the match. Despite an intense performance from the Poles, it was the Romanians who dominated the game. They never trailed during the match, but were unable to find an easy way to kill off the match. The win puts them four points clear of seventh place (playoff position), with Plock two points behind.
