Group A results

Paris Saint-Germain Handball beat Dinamo Bucharest on Wednesday in EHF Champions League Matchday 5 action. Check out the rest of the results from Group A.

VESZPRÉM - MAGDEBURG: 35-35

Leaders with a perfect record before hosting Magdeburg, Veszprém dropped the first point of their European campaign on Matchday 5. The Germans were as solid as ever and looked the Hungarian team in the eye throughout the game. After 17 saves from Nikola Portner and an equaliser from Lukas Mertens with less than 30 seconds to go, Magdeburg returned home with a draw. The result leaves them in third place, while the Hungarians see Paris come back to within one point.

PORTO-GOG: 26-33

Porto still can't mix it in this group phase... The Portuguese, who are bottom with zero points, didn't take advantage of the visit of GOG to unlock their counter. As for the Danes, they have made a very interesting start to the competition. The first 30 minutes reflected the form of the moment, since it was the visitors who were already in the lead at the break (30': 10-15). This trend continued in the second half, with Jerry Tolbring scoring nine more goals. GOG are now third, three points off the podium.

ZAGREB - PLOCK: 26-26

Among the most exciting matches, there was the one between Zagreb and Plock. The biggest gap of the game was three goals, in favour of the Poles (39': 18-21), but soon the Croats were in the lead (46': 23-22). The two teams were neck and neck for the whole game and it was little surprise that it ended in a draw. Zagreb are still in the drop zone due to a worse goal difference than Bucharest. Plock, on the other hand, are fifth.
