MAGDEBURG - ZAGREB: 35-25

Victorious in Bucharest on the opening day (28-30), Magdeburg made it two in a row as they got the better of Zagreb. Two points won thanks in no small part to the exceptional performance by Tim Hornke, who fired an impressive 11 from 13. Les Rouge et Bleus' future opponents now at the top of Group A, while Zagreb remain locked on zero points.

GOG - BUCHAREST: 38-38

Thursday afternoon saw GOG held to a draw at home to Dinamo Bucharest. At half-time, the home side was ahead by a short margin (30': 21-20). This scenario continued during the last 30 minutes, with neither team ever managing to break clear. However, the Romanians came close to a good result - they were in the lead with 25 seconds to go - but a last-gasp equaliser from Oskar Rasmussen smashed their hopes. GOG are third, while Bucharest are now off the mark.

PORTO - VESZPRÉM: 28-35

Veszprém wanted to confirm their good European start with a result away Porto, and the Hungarians succeeded in their mission and disposed of the Portuguese team, who are still without a point this season. Petar Nenadic was one of the driving forces of his team's success. The Serbian international scored from eight of his nine attempts, making him the game's top scorer. Veszprém now lead the way alongside Magdeburg, while Porto are bottom of the table alongside Zagreb.
