First award for Yahia Omar
Yahia Omar, who played a decisive role in Paris Saint-Germain Handball's 29-30 win over Limoges, has been named in the Liqui Moly StarLigue Best 7 for the first time.
After arriving from Veszprém this summer, Yahia Omar has quickly acclimatised to the French league. Following a solid start against Nîmes (4 goals from 6 attempts), the Egyptian international played a crucial role in Les Rouge et Bleus' win at Limoges (29-30). In a tight encounter from start to finish, the right-back proved indispensable, playing an instrumental role in 16 of the 30 goals scored by Raul Gonzalez's men. Yahia was 100% in the first half (8 goals from 8 attempts), but turned into an outstanding assist provider in the second half, finishing the match with 9 goals and 7 assists. His performance was duly rewarded with a debut in the league's Best 7, which follows on from Kamil Syprzak's nod for his role in the opening-day win over Nîmes (36-33) - meaning the capital club has once again been honoured for its fine start to the season.
