Derbies and European clashes on the agenda for Les Rouge et Bleu in October
With eight matches on the programme, including five at Coubertin, two derbies and four Champions League fixtures, October promises to be a thrilling month for Les Rouge et Bleu. Get your diary ready and find out what's on the agenda for Raul Gonzalez's men.
Two derbies in a row to start
After two weeks without being able to enjoy Luc Steins and Elohim Prandi's super-powered shots, the fans at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin will be back with their players on Friday for a match not to be missed under any circumstances. Because you don't play a derby, you fight tooth and nail to win it. Against neighbours Ivry, Les Rouge et Bleu's mission will be to continue their unbeaten run in the league while not underestimate a side that has been struggling early in the season. This exciting derby will be followed quickly by another, as Raul Gonzalez's men take on Créteil a week later. With one win and three defeats in their first four league games, Créteil are in search of a crucial win to kick-start their season and they promise to be a formidable opponent for a capital club side who will be playing their third game in the space of a week.

After a week's break, the Champions League will be back in action for the Parisians on 9 October. On the menu will be the only newcomer to this 2024-2025 edition: Fredericia. The Danes have had a difficult first few weeks so far, still searching for their first point on the continental stage. In front of their own fans, and after two consecutive trips to Europe, Paris will be keen to put on a show and record a second successive Champions League win to build up their confidence before taking on the surprise package of this early European campaign the following week. On 17 October, Les Rouge et Bleu host Dinamo Bucharest, co-leaders of Group A and unbeaten after three rounds. It's another not-to-be-missed encounter at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin, with the two sides set for a thrilling battle that promises to be crucial in the quest for direct qualification for the competition's quarter-finals.

A spectacular end to the month, which promises much for the rest of the season
The Stade Pierre de Coubertin faithful are in for a treat this October, as Raul Gonzalez and his men will once again be playing consecutive home match. After a fine display against Romanian side Bucharest in Europe, Chartres now travel to Paris to take on the capital club in Liqui Moly StarLigue Matchday 7. It promises to be a particularly testing schedule for the Parisians, who hit the road again in midweek for another Champions League summit clash against Mathias Gidsel's Füchse Berlin.

In an equally intense final week, Les Rouge et Bleu travel to Istres, who have been the surprise package of the league season so far. With three wins and just one defeat, against Nantes, the team from Provence have made a stunning return to the top flight after a season's absence. A tough opponent for Raul Gonzalez's men, who follow up just three days later with another gala encounter at Coubertin against in-form Sporting CP.
With Sporting leading Group A with a perfect record, the Stade Pierre de Coubertin will have the opportunity to see a red-hot Portuguese duo the Costa brothers in action. After setting EHF Euro 2024 alight a few months ago, the Portuguese siblings are now taking the Champions League by storm, wreaking havoc with the Lisbon outfit. This latest encounter will precede the first home league clash of the season, as our Parisians kick off their campaign against Montpellier in November. By then, we hope Les Rouge et Bleu will have built up as much confidence as possible with the support of their precious fans against the Portuguese.
