Andreas Palicka extends his contract until 2025

Paris Saint-Germain Handball is delighted to announce the extension of Andreas Palicka's contract for a further year. The Swedish goalkeeper is now tied to the club until 30 June 2025.

Before joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022, Andreas Palicka spent seven seasons in the colours of Bundesliga giants THW Kiel. With the German club, the native of Lund (Sweden) won the Champions League in 2010 and 2012, the Superglobe in 2011 and six of the seven national championships he contested. He has also won five German Cups and seven Supercups.

Andreas Palicka, who joined team-mate Jannick Green in the Parisian goals in July 2022, has also been a key figure in Le Rouge et Bleus' fine season. This year, the Parisian No.12 won his first title in France, in June, with the capital club's 10th Liqui Moly Starligue championship.

In his first season in a Paris shirt, the 36-year-old Swedish international was particularly effective in the league, making 30% of his saves over the course of the season, a total of 228.

With the Swedish national team, Andreas Palicka was crowned European champion in 2022 and was voted best goalkeeper at the 2021 World Championship, where he won the silver medal with his national team.

THIERRY OMEYER, GENERAL MANAGER OF Paris saint-Germain handball

"Like his team-mate in goal, we are delighted to be continuing the adventure with Andreas Palicka for another season. Andreas has brought a wealth of experience from throughout his career and has played some great games in both the league and the Champions League. Together with Jannick Green, he has proven that they form one of the best goalkeeping pairs in Europe and that they are still among the best in their position."

"It's only natural that I should extend my contract with Paris Saint-Germain. We achieved some great things last season, including the league title and qualification for the Final 4 of the Champions League. I feel very much at home here, in this city and at this prestigious club, where I settled in straight away. I'd really like to thank the management for their vote of confidence, the staff, my team-mates and also the fans, who bring a special and unique atmosphere to every match. I can't wait to start the new season and I'll be giving my all to help the club achieve its goals."
