Andreas Palicka and Sweden win, Les Bleus and Egypt lose

On Monday 29 July, Andreas Palicka's Sweden beat Spain 29-26 on Matchday 2 of the men's handball tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Meanwhile, Les Bleus were defeated by Norway (22-27), while Egypt lost to Denmark (27-30).

Les Rouge et Bleu goalkeeper Andreas Palicka helped his side to a 29-26 victory over Spain. Sweden will now be looking for a second win when they take on Slovenia at 16:00 on Wednesday 31 July.

LES BLEUS AND EGYPT TASTE DEFEAT

Paris Saint Germain players Nikola Karabatic, Luka Karabatic (one goal) and Elohim Prandi (two goals) were unable to prevent Les Bleus from losing to Norway (22-27). Trailing by five points at the end of the first period, Les Tricolores were unable to reduce the deficit in the second half. The defending champions will now turn their attention to the match against Egypt at 19:00 on Wednesday 31 July, when they will be looking for their first win of the competition.

They will be joined by another Parisian player: Yahia Omar. Despite his five goals, the newly signed Parisian and his Egypt side lost to Denmark (27-30). After falling behind by ten goals in the first half, the Pharaohs dug deep to respond in the second term, but it was not enough.
