All you need to know about PSG Handball - Aix

Paris Saint-Germain Handball are back at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin! On the occasion Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 22, they play host to high-flying opponents Aix.

THE TABLE

With 32 points from a possible 42, Aix are logically among the top spots on the Liqui Moly StarLigue table. They currently sit in third place, only one point behind second-placed Nantes. While they are very tough to beat at home, Thierry Anti's men are also very efficient on the road and have conceded only one defeat (at Chambéry in Round 3) for ten successes.

Meanwhile Les Rouge et Bleu are still perfect this season! Last Sunday, in Nancy (32-37), they won for the 21st time in as many Liqui Moly StarLigue outings this season. Naturally they occupy top spot with nine-point lead over nearest chasers Nantes.

FACE-OFF: ATTACK-DEFENSE

While both teams are having a good season, they are succeeding in different styles. Indeed, the best attack (Paris, with 770 units) faces the second-best defence (Aix, only 581 goals conceded). The Provençal team can rely on a very good Alejandro Romero, who repelled 156 shots (ninth on the saves chart).

KAMIL FACING ONG

Offensively, the confrontation between two of the best scorers of our championship should be spectacular. For Aix, it's Matthieu Ong who stands out the most. With 127 goals since the beginning of the season, the 29-year-old left-winger is poison for opposition defences. But so is the capital club's Kamil Syprzak! The Polish international (101 goals) is coming off a superb 12 from 12 in Nancy.

A LOOK BACK AT THE FIRST MATCH

At the end of October, Paris and Aix faced off in the south of France as league leaders vs nearest rivals. Thanks to eight goals from Adama Keita, our team made the difference at the beginning of the game and won in style (24-35).

HEAD TO HEAD

Paris Saint-Germain Handball also dominates the head-to-head record in this fixture, with 17 wins and only two defeats. They are currently on a run of eight consecutive victories over PAUC, with the last setback dating back to 22 November, 2017 (33-31).
