All you need to know about Limoges - PSG Handball

After a terrific EHF Champions League win in Porto (30-39), Paris Saint-Germain Handball now return to Liqui Moly StarLigue duties, travelling to Limoges for their Round 11 clash on Sunday afternoon.

The table
Les Rouge et Bleu are currently in pole position in the Liqui Moly StarLigue. Last week's victory over Saint-Raphaël (42-31) was their tenth in a row since the beginning of the season, they have won for the eighth time in as many games since the beginning of the season.

A revelation last season, when they finished tenth in their promotion campaign, Limoges have had some difficulties keeping it rolling this season. They have already lost five times in their ten outings and are only two points ahead of Saran in the relegation zone. However, they are currently on a two-game unbeaten streak and our team will have to be wary of the quality of their squad.

Great players in every position
Last season, Limoges had an excellent squad, especially for a club that was just joining the top flight. In addition to Yassine Idrissi, Jérémy Suty and Julian Emonet, this summer saw the addition of former Montpellier and Barcelona player Jure Dolenec, an EHF Champions League winner with the Catalans last season. Another player who has proven himself on the European scene is Dragan Gajic, who used to play for Veszprém and MHB. The Slovenian right-winger is the second-highest scorer in the Liqui Moly StarLigue this season, with 73 goals.

A prolific attack
In the attacking department, the capital club has a lot to offer. Paris boast the league's best attack, with 376 goals scored in ten games (293 for Limoges), thanks notably to Mikkel Hansen (54 goals) and Kamil Syprzak (43). The Polish pivot is on a very good run of form, scoring 15 times in his last two appearances. His 10 from 10 against SRVHB last week was hid deadliest performance since his arrival in France.

'Keepers neck and neck
Defensively, everything is also going well for the Parisians (third-best defence, with 274 goals conceded). It's more complicated for LH, who are 12th on the defensive table with 298 goals conceded. In the ranking of the most efficient goalkeepers, the two teams' last bastions are very close:. Vincent Gérard has made 81 saves while Idrissi is breathing down his neck on 80.

Head to head
Last season, Limoges and Paris faced off for the first time in the league, and both matches went the way of our team! The first match was at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin, where the Parisians had an on-fire Elohim Prandi (13 goals) to thank for a stylish win (42-20). The fireworks continued in the reverse fixture, with Luc Steins firing a 6 from 6 as Paris clocked another big win (28-41).
