Adama Keita: 'We were expecting a battle'

On Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won away to an excellent Dunkerque side in Lidl Starligue Round 9 action (23-27). Raul Gonzalez, Adama Keita and Luka Stepancic gave us their thoughts on the win.

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):

"I’m very satisfied, as it’s always tough to win away from home. We once again had an excellent Thierry Omeyer to count on. The team feel good in defence and in attack. We’re playing a lot so fatigue is becoming a factor, but the players are doing very well - so I’m happy."

Adama Keita (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-winger):

"Dunkerque were breathing down our necks the whole match. They were very committed and that made things complicated for us. But we were expecting a battle. In defence, we were good. They scored goals but they struggled to find solutions. In attack, we had a bit of trouble faced with their aggressive defending."

Luka Stepancic (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-back):

"Each year, it’s a real battle here in Dunkerque. We won today and we’re very happy. Bravo to the whole team, as we managed to come out on top just three days after a very tough match away to Flensburg. We’ll make the most of our day off on Sunday, but then it’s straight back to work to prepare for next week’s matches."
