Adama Keita: 'Don't take them lightly'

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball return to Coupe de France action, travelling to Pontault-Combault for their round of 32 clash. Les Rouge et Bleus' left-winger Adama Keita shared his thoughts on the competition.

Psg.fr: On Sunday, it's back to the Coupe de France. Is lifting the trophy a serious objective for the team?
Adama Keita: Yes, it is very important. Last season, we didn't win it and that fact is still in our heads. The objective is to win everything. We must not allow ourselves to be caught out by Pontault-Combault.

They're a team who are having a bit of in trouble in the Proligue, but sometimes form goers out the window in a cup match…
Exactly! Exactly! It's a cup, so it's a knockout match. It will be complicated, because our opponents will do everything possible to put us in difficulty. It's up to us to stop them playing their game and avoid any nasty surprises. They are a Proligue team, but don't take them lightly. We have made that mistake in the past...

In the last few seasons, you've been able to work with Uwe Gensheimer. Now it's with Gudjon Sigurdsson. How is it going?
It's so rewarding! Both guys are incredible. I have a lot of discussions with Gudjon, where each of us gives our opinion. It's a real discussion. He gives me a lot of advice and, as a young person, I find it very enriching. We have a similar style of play.

Did you learn different things from both of them?
Different, yes, but similar! [laughs]

More generally, how is your second season as a professional going?
There are ups and downs, especially with the injuries, but I'm very happy to be here. I'm having a lot of fun. Everything is going well in this squad, where there is a very good atmosphere.
