Paris Saint-Germain Handball returned to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Thursday evening for the resumption of the Liqui Moly StarLigue. Les Rouge et Bleu played host to Limoges Handball. After their first triumph of the season last Saturday in the TrophĂ©e des Champions against Nantes (25-35), Luka Karabatic and his team-mates began their quest for an eleventh French championship title.Â
Spurred on by their Parisian fans, who turned out in force, our players got off to a thunderous start. As a team, the men from the capital stepped up their intensity and ruthlessly attacked the Limoges goal. Their efforts were quickly rewarded as Paris made the break in the third minute (3-0).  The Parisians were on fire and racked up the strikes, with Dominik Mathé hitting a quick-fire double (7': 7-1).
Led by an imperious Jannick Green, the Parisian defence never wavered. The Dane repelled most of the opposition's attempts and the first quarter of an hour was largely in Les Rouge et Bleus' favour, as they suffocated their opponents from Haut-Viennois. Thanks to David Balaguer, Kamil Syprzak and Ruben Marchan, Paris extended their lead (20': 13-5). Despite a more difficult final period, largely due to the exploits of our former last line of defence, Gautiher Ivah, the Parisians returned to the dressing room with a large lead.

After the restart, Limoges reduced the deficit, but the Parisians quickly got into the game and extended their lead even further. Thanks to Luc Steins, who scored from his own half, Paris Saint-Germain took a ten-goal lead (37' 25-15), confirming the dominance of the capital club's players.
Halfway through the second period, Sadou Ntanzi scored his first goal of the match to help his team hold on to their lead (45' 30-20). There were only ten minutes left in the game and Raul Gonzalez's men were still dominating. The buzzer sounded and Les Rouge et Bleu were declared ten-goal winners over Limoges Handball (60' 37-27). After this first league victory of the season, the players and supporters expressed their joy in an emotional moment of communion!
