Xavi Simons returns to Paris Saint-Germain and is loaned out to RB Leipzig

After a season with PSV Eindhoven, Xavi Simons has returned to Paris Saint-Germain until 2027. The Dutch attacking midfielder will be loaned out to German club RB Leipzig for the 2023-2024 season.

Xavi Simons was born in Amsterdam on 21 April 2003 and signed his first professional contract when he arrived at Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2019. He made his first-team debut for PSG in February 2021, in a Coupe de France match against SM Caen.

In July 2022, after making 11 appearances in all competitions and contributing 1 assist for the Rouge et Bleu, the Dutch attacking midfielder signed for PSV Eindhoven. He had an exceptional season with the Dutch club, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 matches. He was joint top scorer in the Eredivisie with 19 goals, and won both the Dutch Supercup and the Dutch Cup.

Xavi Simons' performances earned him a place in the Dutch national team, and he celebrated his first cap in the Round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, against the United States.

Paris Saint-Germain would like to wish Xavi a great season with RB Leipzig.
