Xavi Simons: 'I felt good'
The Paris Saint-Germain coach and youngster Xavi Simons spoke to PSGTV after the excellent victory over Feignies Aulnoye in the Round of 64 of the Coupe de France (0-3).
"I am happy that we have made it through to the next round, which is a good thing. It was a very professional performance and we deserved it. We are happy because we have come here, we got the victory and there are no injuries. It's a good feeling. And of course, the forwards made the difference. It's the most important thing for a team. I hope that we continue to score goals."
What's to come? We have qualified for the Champions League, we are first in Ligue 1 and are now through to the next round of the Coupe de France. The next round is going to be important. It's a bit unlucky that we can't play at home. But we need to be professional and go there to try to qualify for the next round."
"It's nice, we won and that's the most important thing. We have qualified for the next round, and we did so with the right mentality, winning while respecting the opposition. Everything went well.
We knew that we needed to respect a team that is dangerous on the counter-attack, and we played well throughout the match. Personally, I felt good, I am very happy, because it's my first start and I played the whole match. It's really nice to play alongside these top-quality players, and I will continue to work."
