Willian Pacho: "Tomorrow will be a big game"

The Paris Saint-Germain defender spoke to the press ahead of his side’s game against Atlético de Madrid, which kicks off at 21:00 CET tomorrow (Matchday 4 of the league phase of the 2024–2025 UEFA Champions League) at the Parc des Princes.

ON PARIS'S RESULTS IN EUROPE

"We're getting used to this competition's new format, and we're working towards doing things better whilst constantly following our game plan. For the moment, we haven't had the results that we would've liked in the Champions League, but I'm convinced that, bit by bit, we'll get them."

ON THE GAME AGAINST Atlético

"Tomorrow will be a big game. Atlético de Madrid are a big club and one of the best in the world. The aim, as it is for every game, is to win and to get the three points at home. I think that we'll need to be very patient in this game. We're working well, and we need to have faith in what the manager is offering. We've had a busy week of work, but we should always have faith in the squad."

ON FITTING IN AT THE club

"I always think positively. I came here because I felt that the club believed in me. That belief is helping me to grow as a player, and I'm trying to contribute my qualities to the team."

ON HIS PARTNERSHIP WITH Marquinhos

"Marquinhos is an incredible person on a day-to-day basis, given how he trains, how he talks to us and how he helps us. He has helped me a lot since I came here. I'm learning every day alongside him, and he's helping me to grow both as a player and as a person."

ON HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH Luis Enrique

"Personally, there are things that I like about the coach, particularly how he talks to you. He explains how to be a good player and is constantly talking to us about very important details. He always looks at things optimistically."

ON HIS PROGRESS WITH LES rouge et bleu

"I think that I've got better at duels; I commit fewer fouls, and I'm obsessed with winning the ball back for my team. Now, I'd like to be more attacking and to be a key player at set pieces, which is what I train for every day."

ON THE COMPETITION AT CENTRE-BACK

"It's always a good thing to have a healthy sense of competition within a team. The more good players there are, the more it helps the team. Whether it's as a starter or as a substitute, you always need to be ready."
