What awaits in Portugal

Qualified for the UEFA Champions League Final 8, Paris Saint-Germain head to Portugal on Saturday. Let's take a look at what's in store for Les Rouge et Bleu.

With six wins out of six since the end of confinement including two Cup final wins and scoring 22 unanswered goals, it has been a positive preparation. The squad is united with a quadruple in the bag and confidence is sky high ahead of the restart of the Champions League. After the competition was halted due to COVID-19, Europe's premier club competition returns this Friday and Saturday with the remaining last-16 fixtures.

The final sprint finish for the 2019-20 begins now as Les Rouge et Bleu take on Italian side Atalanta on Wednesday 12 August at 21:00 to kick-off an unprecedented format: the Final 8. Before then, Thomas Tuchel and his charges head to Faro, in southern Portugal for a three-day training camp before travelling up to Lisbon for the match. Marco Verratti, Layvin Kurzawa and Kylian Mbappé, still doubtful for Atalanta, will travel. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the squad will train at the Campus, their base camp in Faro.

On Tuesday morning, the squad will then travel to Lisbon before training at the Estádio da Luz in the early evening for the traditional matchday-eve training session.
