What a start!
Paris Saint-Germain certainly made a memorable opening at home this season, setting the tone for what is surely going to be an exciting season.
After a seemingly interminable wait, the fans flocked back to the Parc des Princes on Saturday to see their heroes for the first time this season in the flesh with Montpellier in the French capital.
Following a faultless pre-season in which the Trophée des Champions was reclaimed and then Clermont were swept aside in the opening league game, the Rouge-et-Bleu were back home and boy oh boy did they enjoy themselves: it was the first time since Stade de Reims in 1961/62 that a team had scored five times in each of their opening top-flight matches.
The goals and the performance rewarded the supporters, some of whom had travelled a very long way to be at the Parc des Princes, such as the Fan Club Norway.
Monaco are the next visitors to the Parc des Princes on 28 August, a week after next Sunday's trip to Lille.
