What a comeback!

The setting:
With 7 goals scored in 2 official matches, Paris headed to Roudourou full of confidence. A year after his French debut, Neymar Jr returned to the scene, where the World Cup winners are also part of the hype now. On Saturday, Paris were looking to start the campaign with back to back wins for the fourth year in a row!

Highlights:
It was a disappointing first half from the capital club. Guingamp were hungry and aggressive and it took a wonderful reflext save from Buffon to deny Roux, with the help of the crossbar (14'). But after a mistake at the back, Gigi was beaten by Roux's near-range finish (1-0, 20'). Paris were caught out again a few minutes later, only to see Benezet's goal ruled out by the VAR (25'). Neymar was looking to get more and more involved, while Nkunku saw his effort fly just wide (45+2').

After the break, PSG began with renewed ambition and Mbappé, who came on to replace Weah (46') as Paris switched to a 4-2-3-1 formation. Ney earned a penalty, which he tucked away himself to equalise (1-1, 53')! And with the trio of Mbappé, Ney and Di Maria causing havoc, it seemed only a matter of time before Les Rouge et Bleu moved back in front. Di Maria saw his first-time effort from a Neymar corner headed off the line (79')! El Fideo then set up Mbappé to fire Paris in front (1-2, 82'), before adding a third with a magnificent chipped finish (1-3, 90')! Incredible!

A Parisian of the match: Kylian Mbappé
34 days after lifting the World Cup, Kylian Mbappé brought Roudourou to its knees! His introduction in the second half saw PSG storm back into the game.
It took him just 36 minutes in a Paris shirt this season to open his account in the new No.7 and quickly netted a double.

The moment: Gigi’s save
A miraculous save!! Nolan Roux and the Roudourou stadium thought they had their goal… they must still be scratching their heads asking how it wasn’t (14’)! The answer: Gianluigi Buffon! On the ground after a first miss-hit shot from Benezet, the 40-year-old ‘keeper somehow reacted a second time to deflect Roux’s effort up onto the crossbar! Simply breath-taking!
