Verratti's crazy stat

In Sunday's 4-3 home win over Bordeaux, Marco Verratti created another little bit of French footballing history.

Marco Verratti is a usual suspect whn it comes to accumulating incredible statistics and breaking records during his football matches. Last Sunday was no different when the Italian magician enjoyed a match-high 142 possessions, 99 successful passes and 6 tackles.

But this day also saw Il Gufetto go beyond his own incredible statistical standards:

He became the first player in the last 50 years in Ligue 1, to suffer a solitary defeat in 100 home matches. With 81 wins and 18 draws, his only home loss in Ligue 1 came way back in 2012, his first season in the French capital, against Saint-Étienne, on 3 November 2012.

With just 1% of home defeats in Ligue 1, the Paris No.6 is the player with the fewest defeats in his first 100 home games in the last 50 years. Statistics before then are hard to confirm, but there's a very good chance that Marco is the only player in French football history to boast such a record.
