UEFA Champions League 2019-2020: Key Dates

The first qualifying round of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League is underway. We take a look ahead at the key dates for your calendar ahead of this season’s competition.

When does it all start?

The 2019/20 UEFA Champions League campaign has already began, with the preliminary round beginning on June 25th. Then, there will be three further qualifying rounds before the play-offs to confirm who will be joining the group stage draw.

When will Paris Saint-Germain enter the competition.

The first date for your diary is the the UEFA Champions League group-stage draw, which will take place in Monaco on August 29th, at 6pm CEST.  Paris Saint-Germain will be in pot 1 and therefore will not face Liverpool, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern München, Chelsea or Zenit in the group stage. 

The 32 final teams will be drawn into eight groups of four teams. The first match of the group stage will take place over September 17th/18th.

Which other teams have already qualified?

The other teams that are not in pot 1 and therefore could possibly face Paris Saint-Germain are Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Valencia, Tottenham Hotspur, Napoli, Atalanta, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, LOSC Lille, Lyon, Lokomotiv Moskva, Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk, Galatasaray, Genk and Salzburg. 

Where will the final take place?

The UEFA Champions League final will take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on May 30th, 2020, with kick-off scheduled at 9pm CET.
