Twelve Rouge et Bleu at the World Cup: record equalled for Paris!

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar kicks off on Sunday 20 November, and the most anticipated sporting event on the planet will include no fewer than 12 Parisians in its ranks. A record equalled for the capital club!

No fewer than seven nations will be represented by Parisians at the next World Cup, which starts very soon in Qatar. Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain, France, Morocco and Portugal will undoubtedly be followed with a little more attention by Parisian fans.

Leo Messi, Marquinhos, Neymar Jr, Keylor Navas, Carlos Soler, Pablo Sarabia, Kylian Mbappé, Presnel Kimpembe, Achraf Hakimi, Danilo, Vitinha and Nuno Mendes will represent their countries at the World Cup, making 12 Parisians - the same number as for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

As a reminder, Kylian Mbappé, Presnel Kimpembe and Alphonse Areola (on the books at Paris at the time) won the World Cup in 2018, following in the footsteps of a certain Ronaldinho, a world champion with Brazil in 2002, when he was with Les Rouge et Bleu.

For the 2022 edition, Leo Messi will be the first Parisian in action, on Tuesday 22 November at 11am French time, against Saudi Arabia. Kylian Mbappé and Presnel Kimpembe's Les Bleus will round out the action on Tuesday at 20:00 with their first match of the competition, against Australia.

Morocco will take on Croatia at 11:00 the following day, followed by Spain's match against Navas' Costa Rica at 20:00.

Finally, Portugal face Ghana (14:00) and Brazil face Serbia (20:00) on Thursday 24 November to complete the first round of the competition.

All the Parisians' results will be available on PSG.FR and we invite you to follow Rouge et Bleu in Qatar via all the club's digital platforms!
