Tuchel: 'This is a strong result'
Find out what the Paris Saint-Germain coach and players had to say after the 1-0 home win over RC Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes on Saturday:
Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"It's very good to win straight away with this new shirt. We are going to play with it again on Wednesday, so there are no excuses (laughs)! We knew that this was going to be a very difficult match, after the international break and before the match against Real Madrid. The team tried hard and played well in the second half. We got better as the match went on, even though we finished with ten men [following the injury to Colin Dagba]. It was a great result in the end. THere were penty of positives: we kept a clean sheet and we showed we can win when things are tough. The winner arrived late, but it was a pretty good goal, no?
Keylor Navas (Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper)
"I feel really good and very happy after this victory. It was a very difficult match, but my teammates all played very well and Neymar scored the winner. It's important to be able to help the team. I always give my absolute maximum. They defended very well and we really had to push hard the whole game and we managed to score in the final minutes. Neymar is an important player for the team and we are happy to have him with us."
Ander Herrera (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder)
"It was a fantastic feeling to play my first match at the Parc des Princes in front of our supporters. We won and Neymar scored a fantastic goal. We knew Strasbourg would be tough and we prepared for that. Every opponent wants to play a great game against Paris Saint-Germain, and it's never easy but we answered the challenge. Now we turn attentions to the match against Real Madrid. It's the Champions League, a big match, and I hope it will be a great match."
