Tuchel: 'Can't wait for Le Classique'

Ahead of the first Classique of the season, between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome this Sunday 28 October at 21:00 CET, Thomas Tuchel spoke to media at the traditional pre-match press conference.

SQUAD UPDATE
"Thiago Silva will not be ready for the Classique. The rest of the squad is ready to go. We have training this morning and we'll have one last look at the players, but I think Adrien Rabiot and Angel Di Maria will both be ok."

LE CLASSIQUE
"I am very excited and can't wait for the match. It's an extraordinary match to play, in a great stadium and we know matches between Paris and Marseille are never easy! It's a big challenge for us. We are well prepared and our objective is to win in Marseille. We have decided to travel on the morning of the match to be psychologically fresh. But we are very excited."

MARSEILLE
"Marseille's results since the start of the season are not so important this weekend. This is the type of match when anything can happen. They will be playing at home and have the chance to stop our record run of wins. We know they will be extra motivated. They have just lost in the Europa League, but they have the chance to shine tomorrow and we know they will do everything to beat us."

PLAYING FORMATION
"It's important to be able to adapt to the opponent. We can play several different formations and can even change during a match. It's essential to be able to do that, to know the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent. But we also need to perfect our own game, play as a team, structured and disciplined. That's how it is at the highest level."

KYLIAN MBAPPE
"We are playing a lot of matches and playing is the best way for a player to keep improving and progressing. Kylian has already achieved so much, but he also has room for improvement. Great players want to play every game and need these big matches to show what they can do. He has already shown he can adapt and learn quickly, he has a lot of quality, but everyone can always improve."
