Tuchel: ‘A great win’

Thomas Tuchel, Thiago Silva, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Kylian Mbappé spoke to PSG TV after the 3-0 win over Nîmes at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
We had a lot of chances to score throughout the game. We could have won by more. Kylian could have scored five goals! Perhaps we lacked a little concentration, but I think we played really well and defended high up the pitch. The second half was exceptional. It was a great win. The team got stronger and stronger as the game wore on. Now we want to beat Dijon in the Coupe de France. We haven’t forgotten our elimination in the Coupe de la Ligue against Guingamp. We need to stay calm, stay professional and be ready for Tuesday. It’s a very important match for us.

Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
To keep winning and keep playing well is important, even when the coach is rotating the playing squad a lot. It’s magnificent to maintain the same standard of play, no matter who is playing. We have to make the most of these moments. It always takes a little time to get used to the new formation and players, but we played very well in the second half and we deserved the win. Kylian has a big future ahead of him. He needs to maintain the same mentality. We have an important match coming up on Tuesday in the Coupe de France.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Paris Saint-Germain forward)
It was a deserved win. The first half wasn’t easy, but after the break we won back possession higher up the pitch and broke forward quicker. In the end, 3-0 is a good result. The supporters were great for the full 90 minutes. We always play with confidence here at the Parc des Princes. The coach made a few changes. Everyone gave it everything. The whole squad is committed and playing well. It’s very positive. I’m very happy for Christopher (Nkunku) who is a great young player and has a great future ahead of him. I’m also very happy for Kylian (Mbappé) who scored twice. I have a lot of respect for him and his performances that have seen him score 50 goals in Ligue 1.

Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain forward)
We weren’t doing enough with the ball in the early stages and Nimes started very well. We managed to accelerate in the second half and we knew they would tire. We managed to add two more goals. Tuchel? He transmits his motivation, to never give up, always keep going forward. We have players that run for the full 90 minutes. We do it for him, for the supporters. We are working well. We have come a long way and we have a long way to go. We need to continue like this. My 50th Ligue 1 goal? I work every day to help my team as much as possible. I want to enjoy my football because football is great fun. Scoring goals and breaking record is what drives me.
