A LITTLE HISTORY...

It's the 78th competitive game between the two sides. Paris Saint-Germain's record reads 40 wins, 17 draws and 20 losses (N.B. this total is only against SRFC's first team with PSG having played their reserve side in the 1972/73).

The capital club won 3-0 against Rennes at the Parc des Princes (3-0, 7 November 2020), Rennes are the only side to have won three times in the capital in Ligue 1 since 2011 (1-2 on 17/11/2012, 1-2 on 07/05/2014, 0-2 on 12/05/2018).

The Parisians suffered their only league loss to Rennes when they were beaten 2-0 at Roazhon Park on 3 October.

It was also against Rennes that Paris Saint-Germain won their first point of the QSI era, drawing 1-1 in Brittany on 13 August 2011.

The club has lost just one match after 23 league games, the third-best performance at this stage of a L1 season since 1985/86 & 2015/16 (0 defeats) and equalling those of 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2018/19.

The Rouge et Bleu have 56 points after 23 matches, the best return since Nîmes (57 points, re-calculated with 3 points for a win) in 1961/62.

It's the club's fifth-best performance in the last 60 years behind those of 2015/16 (63 points), 2018/19 (62 points), 2017/18 (59 points) and 2019/20 (58 points).

KEYS TO THE MATCH..

Paris Saint-Germain are the only team yet to lose at home in Ligue 1 this season (10 wins, 1 draw). The Parisians have gone a whole top-flight season unbeaten at the Parc des Princes five times already: 1985/86, 1993/94, 2014/15, 2016/17 and 2018/19.

The Rouge et Bleu have kept clean sheets in their last four home league games (Nice, Monaco, Brest & Reims).

Angel Di Maria loves playing Rennes with seven competitive goals against them, ahead of Dijon and Monaco (6), then Angers, Marseille and Montpellier (5).
