Top goalscorer and assist leader: Mbappé two matches from the record
The Paris Saint-Germain forward remains on course to become the first man to top both categories at the end of a Ligue 1 season.
It's become almost normal for Kylian Mbappé to dominate the opposition. With two games to go, he's three goals clear of the chasing pack and two assists better off than teammate Lionel Messi as he closes in on a record achievement.
After winning the penalty that allowed Neymar Jr to score the second Parisian goal (25'), the world champion has now been involved in 39 goals - 24 goals, 15 assists - in just 33 league games.
With a trip to Montpellier and a home game against Metz to come, Mbappé will have a chance to maintain his lead in both charts and earn himself yet another slice of Paris Saint-Germain and Ligue 1 history.
IN THE HISTORY BOOKS SOON?
Mbappé could also equal the single-season record for assists, currently held by teammate Angel Di Maria with 18 set in 2015/16.
If he finishes leading goalscorer, it would be the fourth successive season in which he has achieved the feat, something only two men have done before: Carlos Bianchi (1975-79) and Jean-Pierre Papin (1988-92).
And as mentioned previously, no man has ever topped both charts in a single Ligue 1 campaign...until now?
