Timothée Pembélé moves to Sunderland AFC

The Paris Saint-Germain-trained defender is joining English club Sunderland (2nd division) on a permanent transfer.

The man from Beaumont-sur-Oise (Val d'Oise) joined the Centre de Préformation in 2015, at the age of 15. Two years later, he won the French league title with Paris Saint-Germain's U17 team.

Timothée Pembélé signed his first professional contract with the club in 2018 and was part of the squad for the UEFA Champions League Final 8 in Lisbon in August 2020. The following season, the versatile defender (capable of playing as a full-back or in the centre) was regularly included in the senior squad and made his first-team debut (9 matches, 1 goal).

In 2021-2022, the "Titi" went on loan to Girondins de Bordeaux, making 28 appearances and scoring 3 goals. He returned to Paris Saint-Germain at the start of the 2022-2023 season, making 6 appearances in all competitions and helping the club win its 11th French league title.

First selected for the France U16 (11 matches), U17 (9 matches) and U18 (9 matches, 3 goals) teams, he was called up with the U21s to take part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (1 match).

The club wishes Timothée every success in his new colours.
