Timothée Pembélé: "It's maybe a match for the youngsters"

Before the final match of 2020 against Strasboyrg, the young Parisians aren’t hiding their desire to get out onto the Parc des Princes pitch.

4 appearances for Timothée Pembélé, 7 for Kays Ruiz and 5 for Bandiougou Fadiga: since the start of the 2020-2021 season, Thomas Tuchel has been sending out more and more frequently young players from the Academy onto the pitch. 

With all the injuries affecting the first time and the hectic fixture list for the Rouge et Bleu, the German coach doesn't hide his desire to count on the reinforcements of the youngsters.

So, for the much awaited game against RC Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday evening, in Round 17 of Ligue 1, the young Parisians want to show what they can do. 

"The team is ready, we have worked very well this week, we want the 3 points and to be back on top of the league. Maybe it's a match for us, the youngsters, because it's the last game of the year. I don't know if the coach wants to rotate the squad but it would certainly be good for us youngsters," said Timothée Pembélé to PSGTV, closely followed by Kays Ruiz: "I hope that the coach will give match time to the youngsters, and above all that we win."

A question the German coach answered in Tuesday's press conference: "Will we see the youngsters play? Maybe, if it's necessary and they deserve to play. We need to find solutions given our avalanche of injuries, and it won't be easy. We must wait before deciding because unfortunately surprises can happen in final training sessions."

It's thinking about the victory that Bandiougou Fadiga is approaching the home game against the club from Alsace: "I want us to win in style, in order to show that we want to be top of the league."

For this final game of 2020, it's a present offered to all lovers of Ligue 1? as three clubs are separated by just a single point in the standings. For Paris Saint-Germain, it's Strasbourg on the menu.
