Timothée Pembélé is back to competitive action!

The French defender made his return to the pitch in an official match on Monday evening at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, as the Parisians beat US Pays de Cassel 7-0 in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France.

On 10 April 2022 at the Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux, Timothée Pembélé was forced to come off during his team's 3-1 victory over FC Metz. The player who started at Paris Saint-Germain and loaned to Girondins de Bordeaux last season was the victim of a cruciate knee ligament rupture.

The Parisian defender then began a long battle that would keep him away from the pitch for many months. After a gradual return to training, Paris Saint-Germain's number 29 made the first phase of his comeback last Thursday during the gala match at King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh.

289 days after his injury, the club from the capital player has now been able to return to competitive action this Monday by starting the match against US Pays de Cassel in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France.

After his team qualified against the northern club (7-0), Timothée Pembélé expressed his joy to PSG TV: "I really enjoyed coming back and playing. It's been a long time so I'm happy. I wanted to thank all the people who supported me: whether it was the physiotherapists, the doctors or my teammates."
