Through the 2 million followers barrier on Weibo!
In their Round 4 game, shown in prime time in China, Paris Saint-Germain broke through the 2 million followers barrier on the Chinese social network Weibo.
Created in July 2012, the official Weibo account of the capital club now has more than 2 million followers. The numbers are ever more symbolic of Paris Saint-Germain's international standing, with ever more fans around the world and on the Asian continent.
Symbolically, it was during the game against Nice, shown at 13:00 French time and in prime time in China, that the barrier was broken through. Since the start of the new season, the LFP has decided to promote French football in Asia, deciding to opt for the time slot of 13:00 on Sundays, allowing the match to be shown in prime time.
To mark the occasion, the Paris Saint-Germain players wore at the Allianz Riviera shirts with the names printed in Mandarin and they also sent messages in Chinese to supporters before the game.
In Shenzhen, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) also put in place a fan zone, called Ligue 1 Touch, allowing locals to make the most of the Sunday matches, living them to the full, with many activities.
Unforgettable experiences that will be repeated all through the season!
