Thomas Tuchel: 'We won, that's the best thing'

Thomas Tuchel, Marquinhos and Thiago Silva spoke after claiming the 13th Coupe de France in the club's history with a 1-0 win over Saint-Etienne.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"It's always difficult to play a final. We hadn't played for five months, we were the favourites, and we had everything to lose. Saint-Etienne's players pressed a lot and took a lot of risks, and we struggled to find solutions to that. But after a first chance for them, we created several others to score a second goal. I don't want to be too critical of my players, because I wasn't expecting too much of them. It's not easy to play a game like that. It was tough for us today, but we won the final, that's the best thing. Now we'll be able to analyse, observe, and improve. We have a week before playing another final and to be ready to win again."

Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"Physically, we're in good shape, everyone felt good, and the coach made the changes that needed to be made. We know we can play better, but it's not always easy to win 4-0, 8-0...You also have to be able to suffer and come through without necessarily playing well. It was a final, it had to be won regardless of how. Sometimes, we can't play well and in those times, you also have to be intelligent to know how to win."

Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"We struggled to find space due to their good pressing. We need to prepare ourselves for that, because it could happen again next Friday against Lyon and in the Champions League. But those are the sorts of games you have to know how to win. We're happy, but it's true we could have played better. We have a week to prepare as best we can in order to put in a better display than today. It was a tough game, we had a lot of difficulties. We're sad for Kylian and happy to have the trophy at the same time. We hope he'll recover as quickly as possible, because he's indispensable for us."
