Thomas Tuchel: 'We were able to keep ourselves in the match'

Thomas Tuchel, Rafinha and Moise Kean looked back on Paris Saint-Germain's 2-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday 28 October at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"In the first twenty-five minutes, we lacked structure and gave away too many balls too easily. We allowed our opponent to create chances, to be dangerous. It was better to follow, we played higher up the pitch. It was a slightly difficult game, not our best performance, but the most important thing is that we were able to keep ourselves in the match. We are able to win, we are top of Ligue 1 and we have won away in the Champions League. It's not perfect but we can't be too critical. There are good things, we need to remain positive in order to win."

Rafinha (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder)
"We knew that it was an important match and that we needed the three points in order to keep in touch with the top of the group. We leave here with what we came to achieve, after a match that wasn't easy against a good side who is able to play with the ball, that's why these three points are very important."

Moise Kean (Paris Saint-Germain forward)
"We needed to win the match this evening after the home defeat against Manchester United last week. It's mission accomplished! I work hard and I continue to work hard to help the team. I am very happy, these two goals bring me confidence. The first minutes of the game weren't easy this evening, but in what followed, we were able to find the chink in the defence's armour. It wasn't an easy match, we needed to stick together, to remain focused and patient."
