Thomas Tuchel: 'Stand up and be counted in key moments'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach laid out what he's looking for from his squad in Saturday's Ligue 1 crunch clash with Rennes.

THE SQUAD

"Icardi, Verratti, Draxler, Neymar, Mbappé, Navas and Kimpembe are all out for tomorrow. Perhaps Sarabia won't be available either, he has a muscle injury, like Navas."

LEIPZIG

"We don't need to have regrets. We played a physical game, we gave a lot on the pitch. It wasn't easy, but we managed to play with a lot of intensity. We have to move on. We're disappointed to have lost, but when we analysed the performance, we said to ourselves that we had the possibility of winning. That's why we have to think of the upcoming game and get back to winning ways. There's nothing alarming, and the players are focussed on the goals."

BOUNCE BACK

"We trained at midday yesterday and before that we showed videos of the game, the stats, to the players, to show them what was positive and negative. It's also a way of rounding up the last match and moving on to the next one. We don't have a lot of time between each game, but it's important to be able to do it."

RENNES

"They're a team that has improved a lot in recent years. They deserved to play in the Champions League, they won the Coupe de France, against us unfortunately. They're a solid and strong side that has a lot of courage, and believe in their chances. They often play in a 4-1-4-1, they can play every three days, they've already proven that. I expect to come up against an aggressive side that plays together."

THE MATCH

"It's a good chance for us to put some distance between ourselves and them, but we need to show a different face collectively and put in a good performance. It's a great game, which deserves to be prepared well. We know they'll be prepared to have some tough moments, because we're strong at home. But we'll have to be ready to stand up and be counted in key moments. It'll be decided on the details, we know the small details count in this kind of match."
