Thomas Tuchel: 'Reacted like champions'

Thomas Tuchel, Thomas Meunier, Angel Di Maria and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting gave their thoughts on Tuesday's Ligue 1 win at Dijon.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"The team reacted well. It's a first step. Our challenge is to show that we can react like champions. We didn't manage to reach the quarter-finals, and it's been tough for us for a few days, but on the other hand, to respond, show that we're united, a team with a special spirit, is an obligation. The team did that this evening and it's a first step. We played very well. We had a lot of chances, and played very well, with quality, good rhythm and quick play. We were disciplined and scored four goals, it's good. It's a good performance and a good win."

Thomas Meunier (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"There was definitely some emotional fatigue, but as a professional footballer, you have to shut those moments out. Mental strength is to show that we can put that aside, pick ourselves up and do our jobs as best we can. This evening, it was an excellent response after the bad experience of Wednesday. Going to see the fans? We have gotten into the habit of going to see the fans at the end of games. Often, there are a lot of them who make the trip. They're always there at home too. Despite the tension after being knocked out by Manchester United, there is still a good feeling of cooperation between the fans, the players and the club, and that's important." Speaking to Canal+

Angel Di Maria (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder)
"It was important to win after the defeat to Manchester United. We were very disappointed, and it was important to win to pick our heads up and focus on Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. I'm very happy to have had the opportunity to make an assist and score."

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Paris Saint-Germain forward)
"Our opponents try not to concede an early goal, which means it can become difficult if we don't score. This evening, Marquinhos' lovely goal helped us. We won 4-0 in the end, and I think it's deserved. It was a good game. I think that the whole team and the fans are behind me. When I have the chance to play, I give 100%. As an attacker, it's important to score and make assists. After my assist last week, I was able to score this evening. It does me good. We showed a good reaction and played well. We have to keep going all together because we have an important game for all the fans on Sunday. I know they'll be behind us, we have to make them proud."
