Thomas Tuchel: 'Important to win before Manchester United'

See what the Parisians had to say after Saturday's 2-1 win at Caen.

Thomas Tuchel (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
"We have had to go out and seek the wins in recent games. It took us a lot of chances to score, and that's why the game was a little tougher than expected and was tight right to the end. I'm very happy my players managed to win the game. It was important to win before a game like the one that's coming up against Manchester. The team was able to stay calm, the players showed a great attitude on the pitch, despite Caen scoring first. But we stayed strong mentally and we deserved the win."

Alphonse Areola (Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper)
"We put in a good performance. We know that it'll be difficult every time we go away from home, that teams will defend deep against us. We created a lot of chances, but unfortunately didn't get the rub of the green at the start of the game. But we stayed focussed, compact, and kept on attacking, and it paid off at the end of the game."

Layvin Kurzawa (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
"We saw the team's mental strength today. It was difficult from start to finish, they opened the scoring, but we were able to respond with a goal straight after. We then gave a lot to go and get the win, and we did it. The players and coach are happy with the win, and now we can concentrate fully on the next game."

Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain forward)
"We really dominated, created a lot of chances, but things didn't always go for us. We're heading home with a win, that's the most important thing. The coach had insisted that we win the game to prepare as well as possible for Manchester United coming, and we did that. We're going to go home, rest and prepare well for the important game that awaits us on Wednesday." Speaking to Canal+
