Thomas Tuchel: 'Faith in my team'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach is in upbeat mood ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League encounter with Club Brugge.

QUALIFICATION

"In the first game, we had to adapt because Brugge caused us problems with their pressing in the first half, their position high up the pitch, their courage and aggression. We eventually managed to get a deserved win, an extraordinary one, scoring five times. We'll have to improve and be ready. We had a meeting and then a training session today to prepare for every situation. If we're able to do that, we'll have a chance of winning. If we win, the consequence will be that we'll go through, but a victory will be the consequence of our performance."

BRUGGE

"Brugge were very brave in Madrid. The team were very brave, pressed very high in order to win the ball back in the opposition half and score two goals. It was very impressive. Against us, they were even braver and more aggressive. We were able to adapt. They'll try to press like that against us again. Against Real, they couldn't do it for 90 minutes. It'll depend on our quality, our precision, our play and our structure. We'll have to be attentive and be ready for every eventuality."

THE FIRST GAME

"If we play with too much confidence and the feeling that nothing can happen to us, then anything can happen. I have faith in my team, which has shown they can play at a high level and be rigorous. The Champions League is the best European competition. It's never easy. The result of the first game was extraordinary, but we had a lot of difficulties during some minutes. Brugge have a very particular style. We'll have to play with intelligence and with the necessary mentality. I'm convinced that we're capable of doing it, but we have to respect the game and the opponent."
