Thomas Tuchel: 'Be at our best'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach expects a tough UEFA Champions League game in Bruges on Tuesday.

SQUAD

"We have come to Bruges with 17 players and three goalkeepers. I don't think Kylian Mbappé can play 90 minutes. We have to make a choice, and ask ourselves if it's necessary for us that he starts or finishes the game. It's the same thing for Edinson Cavani. All of the others are able to play the full game. I have a few ideas, but not yet the starting line-up. We still have a training session, I'll take a decision afterwards."

BRUGGE

"It's the Champions League. Playing away in Europe is the most difficult challenge. So I have a lot of respect for Brugge. They're a team with a lot of energy, a lot of courage. I expect a very physical game against a team that presses very high. We have to find solutions. There'll be a lot of intensity. Brugge have not lost in their opening two matches. They drew with Galatasaray and Real Madrid, a game in which they led 2-0. They're a good team, difficult to play. We expect a very difficult game. We'll have to be at our best. If that's not the case, it won't be possible to win. We'll have to be focussed, ready to play. We're here to win, to put in a good performance. But it'll be tough."

THIAGO SILVA

"Since I arrived, he has been an extraordinary captain, incredible, right from my first meeting with him. He has personality and quality. He thinks about football every day, how to improve himself and improve the team. He always thinks about the 'team', he's a role model. I'm very happy he's with us. On the pitch, he's calm, plays with a lot of confidence, and he gives that to everyone. It's great to work with him. He is a great personality, a great player. I have faith in him."

LEANDRO PAREDES

"There has clearly been a change, an improvement, regarding Leandro. It was necessary. He has shown he could play with intensity and be important for us. He has always shown that in training, but it was more difficult in games. He has shown his qualities in recent matches. He's very professional, is always one of the first players to arrive at the Ooredoo Training Centre. Our team has his style. It's necessary to play with intensity. The Argentina international team play in a different manner. He needed to adapt. He has done that, which is an enormous step."
