Thomas Tuchel: 'Be able to bounce back'

Before heading to Brittany to take on Rennes in Sunday's Ligue 1 encounter, Thomas Tuchel faced the media.

THE SQUAD
"Kylian Mbappé is suspended. Marco Verratti feels good and is ready to play. Gianluigi Buffon will be in goal against Rennes and also Reims. Dani Alves and Layvin Kurzawa are absent, while Alphonse Areola needs to be with his family. We'll decide today whether or not he's in the squad with us tomorrow."

THE MATCH AGAINST RENNES
"We lost our last match against Liverpool in the last few minutes. That's the way it is, that's sport. But we have to be able to bounce back, and it's important to show that we still have that thirst for victory and the desire to get back to winning ways on the pitch. That's what we want to accomplish tomorrow."

THE OPPONENTS
"Rennes are a talented team with a lot of good individuals. And it's very tough to go there, we know it won't be an easy game. They have bought well and they won in midweek in the Europa League. We know they'll want to be at their best."

GIGI BUFFON
"He's a player with a lot of experience, in the Champions League especially. He's someone who can contribute a lot to the squad, and he's very important in the team. That's why we decided to take him to Liverpool even though we knew he couldn't play. It's also important for him to feel the atmosphere in this squad, that he's present in the dressing room."

NEYMAR JR
"He can play in many positions. He's played as a 10 since the start of the season, but can also play on the left. His pre-season was not optimal, as he played the World Cup, but today he's in top form, he's physically ready. Against Liverpool, I started him on the left, because I said to myself that our opponents wouldn't leave him any space in the middle. We wanted to attack down the flanks at Anfield, but that could change in coming matches, it'll depend on our opponents."
