Thomas Tuchel: 'A knockout game'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach wants his side to start the new year as they mean to go on in Sunday's Coupe de France tie.

THE SQUAD
"My players are in good spirits, there's a good atmosphere in the squad. Everyone's happy to be back. Having said that, Abdou Diallo, Thiago Silva and Presnel Kimpembe will be missing tomorrow due to injury."

BACK TO WORK
"We did some tests to see how much work we can give the players during the coming weeks. We have had three full sessions up till now, everyone has done well and we'll choose on Sunday who plays against Linas Montlhéry."

THE MATCH
"It's difficult to prepare a game such as this, but we're favourites. We'll have to play with respect, respect for our opponents, and that means being at our best on the pitch. It's a cup game, a knockout game...we're here to win. It's not easy to prepare for a game like this, and that's why we have to focus on ourselves and on our way of playing."

TRANSFER WINDOW
"You never know what can happen in football, but I haven't made any special requests to the Sporting Director. We have a super squad, I love working with the players, we don't need any new arrivals. You never know what can happen, but normally we won't change anything."

THE FIXTURE LIST
"We have a squad of 23 players at training. We're going to manage their playing time and provide players with à la carte sessions. There's the back-to-back meeting with Monaco in particular, with a new coach and they're a very strong team. I'm convinced we mustn't think too much about the fixture list and especially not Dortmund. We have to get the taste for victory and we have to win to do that. Stringing wins together builds confidence. That's what we have to focus on above all."
