Thilo Kehrer: 'I've gained in confidence'

Frequently used by Thomas Tuchel in recent weeks, the German defender gives us his thoughts on his first weeks in the French capital and looks ahead to Sunday's encounter with Monaco.

Thilo, how do you feel about your first three months at Paris Saint-Germain?
"Firstly, I needed a period of adaptation to get used to the team's play, my teammates and the coach's principles. After that first phase, I've gained in confidence and today I feel better and better. I'm very happy with how I'm progressing."

You've been a regular in the side in recent games. You played your first Classique and in the UEFA Champions League. How do you feel?
"It's great to play those types of games. I didn't have any particular aim in terms of playing time. I try to do my job in training and to seize every opportunity. I give everything to be on the pitch. When I am, I don't think about pressure and I try to play well."

How do you think the start to the season has gone?
"I think we're on the right track. We improve every day and in every game. There's a good feeling with the coach. People expect Paris Saint-Germain to win every game. As for us, we do our utmost to be at our best on the pitch."

How is your relationship with Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe?
"We talk a lot on the pitch. They're very experienced defenders who have played big games, that enables me to learn a lot. I like to watch them to improve."

On Sunday, Paris face Monaco, who are second-from-bottom. How are you approaching the game?
"We mustn't think about their current situation or their position in the table. They have a young team with a lot of potential. Anything can happen in a match. We have to be ready for this game, show our qualities and our character. If we do that and we play to our level, we can win the game."
