Thiago Silva/Ander Herrera: "We deserved to win the league"
For more than a month, Thiago Silva and Ander Herrera have been living in confinement. It was at home that they learned they'd become champions of France. To mark the occasion they spoke to PSGTV.
In spite of the disappointment of not being able to finish the league season, Ander Herrera wanted to salute the performance of the team: "Yes, I'm going to savour this title but it's not the same. We want to win trophies on the pitch. Of course we deserve to win this title. We were the best team, we played beautiful football and we respected all our opponents."
For the Paris Saint-Germain captain, this title deserves to be celebrated in any case: "It's a special situation and it's difficult to say something. The decision has just come out. But in my opinion the most important thing is the health of the players, of everybody. If the league season had restarted then maybe two weeks of a month after the virus could have come back. It avoids aggravating the situation. I think that the decision has been taken. It's a bit bizarre for us. It's the strangest title I've won, but we're going to celebrate it anyway because we deserved to win it."
