Thiago Silva: 'A special day'

The Brazilian defender went to greet the fans after Tuesday's 4-0 friendly win over Celtic at the Parc des Princes.

After playing the first half and watching the second from the bench, the Brazil international then headed to the Auteuil End at the final whistle where the CUP members were waiting to pay him one last tribute. The Rouge-et-Bleu captain had a banner in his honour, and spoke at length to fans. After some photos to capture the moment with his wife and children on the pitch, O Monstro headed to the PSG TV studio from where he was able to thank the fans.

"It was a special day, a very important one for me," explained the Parisian number 2. "This morning, it was tough for me to focus on the game. It was an unforgettable moment that will remain in my heart. This link with the fans, the respect between us, it'll stay with me for the rest of my life. The story isn't quite finished, we're going to work to finish the season well. We have a difficult game on Friday when we can win a trophy, and another next Friday. Then comes the team's big goal and the Champions League. We have everything to finish the season well and I'm convinced the team will give their all. I hope to go out on a high."
